In the summer of 1998, I built up antibodies to bee venom in order to perform a bee beard with thousands of honeybees hanging in a swarm from my chin. I then collaborated with New York and Connecticut beekeepers to produce Bearded Lady pure wildflower honey. The piece has been shown as a video installation in museum cafes where viewers can buy jars of honey and as a gallery installation.
