As part of Factory Direct, an exhibition at ArtSpace in New Haven, Connecticut, I was paired with United States Surgical, a manufacturer of sutures and wound-closure devices, to produce a work at the intersection of art and industry. I chose to focus on the way the employees noticed, remade, and reassigned meaning to the items they worked with every day. The reframed objects were documented in large photographic prints, both in context in the employees'workstations and on their own as glorified artifacts.
