Though Sponge continues with its peripatetic ventures, it has been an intention of the project to enter a dynamic with a host organization, just as a filtering sea-sponge attaches to a marine reef. This vision for the project has been realized with the new Sponge headquarters at the Anderson Gallery at VCUarts. Sponge now finds itself uniquely situated in an ecology of teaching, learning, research and art-making.
Visit Sponge HQ during public hours, which take place from 2-4 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons throughout VCU s Fall 2010 semester. The space can also be seen through viewing portals during the Anderson Gallery s regular hours, Tuesday Friday, 10-5 and Saturday and Sunday, noon-5.
